Hillsborough Contemporary
The Story
This project began with a "blank canvas"—a stark, white interior that felt disconnected from its surroundings. Our mission was to breathe life and soul into the space, transforming it into a warm and inviting sanctuary that celebrates the views beyond.
The Design
To create depth, we replaced sterile walls with hand-selected textured wallpapers and layered the floors with plush, high-pile rugs. Drawing from Jana’s couture expertise, the design features a sophisticated interplay of unique textiles and foundational furnishings. We introduced a captivating "light vs. dark" contrast, using dark, sculptural elements to anchor the rooms and create an exciting, frame-like backdrop for the natural light and scenery.
The Result
By pairing clean, foundational pieces with curated ornamentation, we achieved a "collected" feel that is both dramatic and deeply comfortable. The home now possesses a distinctive personality—proving that with the right mix of texture and contrast, even the most minimalist space can become a soulful, modern masterpiece.
